3. Outline of the presentation on electrochemical processes
In accordance with the above concept, the principles on which electrolytic processes are based in this book are subdivided into four articles, the first of which describes the various processes generally involved in electrolytic cells; then, in a second step , the physico-chemical laws governing these different processes; then the overall theoretical characterization of these processes by current-potential characteristics will be described. , which can be used to predict the conditions under which a process will be carried out. . An overview of some of the most important applications currently being exploited illustrates the general reasoning developed in these articles in concrete cases (in the fields of product and material synthesis, metallurgy, autonomous electric power generators, pollution control).
