2. Synthesis and physico-chemical characterization of electrodes
As with printed polymers, a similar approach is proposed by replacing the polymer with a mesoporous metal matrix. The metal chosen for this technology is platinum, due to its high chemical and structural stability. The principle is to imprint the geometric structure of the chiral molecule in the metal. The stability of the metal matrix is therefore essential to preserve the chiral information.
For the synthesis of these electrodes, an electrochemical assembly of three electrodes is used:
the working electrode is a gold-coated glass plate;
the reference electrode is an Ag/AgCl (3M NaCl) electrode;
the counter-electrode is a platinum grid to complete the circuit.
