Among the processes for recycling HCl into chlorine, there are three main families:
electrolysis of HCl to chlorine ;
oxidation of HCl with nitric acid (Kel-Chlor process);
catalytic oxidation of HCl (Deacon process).

diaphragm electrolysis of aqueous solutions (Uhde process) ;
gas-phase electrolysis (Dupont process) ;
