The fugacity f A of a pure gaseous body A (or of body A in a gaseous mixture) replaces the real pressure to express the difference in behavior of the gas or gaseous mixture compared to the perfect gas. The fugacity has the dimension of a pressure, and the fugacity/pressure ratio is called the fugacity coefficient:
