The hypervisor landscape is currently undergoing rapid and far-reaching change. Three major trends seem to be emerging for the future (figure 10 ):
a strong move towards embedded systems, with increasingly constrained systems;
a "vertical" shift from safety functions to hardware;
a "horizontal" extension to the multicloud, with networked hypervisors.
