3.1 E-reputation and buzz monitoring

E-reputation monitoring, or reputation management, is what is said on the Internet about my company, my services, my products and my employees. All this has an undeniable influence on the company. Monitoring the buzz consists in watching how news items spread. Buzz, or information buzz, is simply the dissemination of information to create a buzz around a fact, piece of information, event or product. Buzz can start from a website or blog and be relayed via Twitter, Facebook, SMS and other social networks. The Meltwater.com website, for example, tracks tweets second by second, and the Buzztracker.com website shows the extent to which a buzz spreads geographically.
