In the preceding paragraphs, and through the examples of diagrams presented, we have been able to highlight all the advantages of visual modeling, particularly in terms of communication. A means of expression such as UML becomes indispensable when it comes to developing large-scale software in a team, using object-oriented technologies. Mastery of this technique gives the designer the ability to "draw" the solution he is advocating, and to make himself quickly understood without having to resort to long speeches which can be a source of misunderstanding or incomprehension. In teams that have adopted UML, diagrams are a formidable medium for exchange and dialogue between the various project participants. Faced with a design problem, technical solutions and the basis for their programming are sketched out in a few strokes of the pen, and can thus be discussed before adoption by all protagonists....
