10. Safety incidents

The information security management system, like any other system, is subject to internal and external events that can disrupt its operation.

These events, which have an impact on information security, must be recorded as incidents or faults, and then treated accordingly.

Information security incident

"One or more undesirable or unexpected information security events with a high probability of compromising operations related to the organization's business and threatening information security" (source ISO 27000: 2013).

Examples of security incidents :

  • loss of service ;

  • loss of material ;
