2. SDN for attaching services to the network
Value-added services are an important element for operators. Indeed, offering only a transport service is no longer economically viable. For several years now, operators have been adding service bricks (voice, video, security, etc.) around their transport services.
The big technical problem behind this is how to connect the service to the customer via the network.
Let's take the example of a simple secure Internet gateway service for a level 3 virtual private network.
The customer has a level 3 virtual private network with an operator, and interconnects his sites via this network. He would like to have a centralized Internet gateway managed by the operator for all his sites. In a relatively common architecture, the operator deploys a firewall in the network that is connected both to the customer's private network...
