
5. Cross-domain service automation challenges
Automating the production and operation of cross-domain services raises a number of challenges. Quite apart from the business implications linked to the need for collaboration between potentially competing parties, the automated production and operation of cross-domain services presents technical challenges that have not all been resolved.
But resolving these issues is crucial to the successful emergence of value-added services such as immersive services, which are likely to mobilize the resources of potentially hybrid network and cloud infrastructures (i.e., part of these resources will be hosted in a private cloud infrastructure, which may be owned by the customer, for example, while another part will be hosted in a "public" infrastructure, such as that operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS)).
