5. Conclusion
OpenCL is a programming language capable of federating a range of heterogeneous hardware systems around a common goal. Computing power is thus considerably increased, and any application can benefit from it. Portability is one of OpenCL's major assets, as it runs on hardware from a wide range of manufacturers, unlike CUDA, which is dependent on Nvidia hardware alone.
OpenCL continues to expand, and is now even available on mobile platforms and smartphones. A web version is also available, enabling Internet browsers to benefit from the full power of the host machine. OpenCL continues to evolve and expand into new areas.
