3.1 Multiprocessors in a single chip
A multithreaded processor is basically the implementation on a single integrated circuit chip of a symmetrical multiprocessor (SMP), or more generally a parallel architecture with several processors. Figure 9 illustrates the difference between a 2nd-order multithreaded processor, a biprocessor and a dual-core processor.
