2. Basic features

2.1 Price

By 2022, laptop prices will be in the hundreds of euros. For office use, prices will be in the €300 to €400 range. For multimedia use (video playback, document creation with graphics, photo storage), prices are in the €500-600 range. Game enthusiasts in particular will want a high-performance graphics card and a large-capacity disk, and prices are in excess of €800, rising to €2,500 to €3,000. Prices for low-cost platforms are in the tens of euros.

In May 2022, an Arduino Nano board will cost less than €20. Prices for the Arduino MKR series range from €25 to €70. Figure 2 shows the price of Arduino boards in 2020.
