7.1 Fields of application
The various types of system described above can be found in a wide variety of applications. The following is a non-exhaustive list of such fields and applications.
• Aeronautics and space: piloting assistance, air traffic or mission planning, satellite control (altitude correction, battery management, launch operations control, launch and mission planning). Human exploration of planets (Mars in particular) requires robots and AI systems with the ability to perceive and understand the environment, and to help make the right decisions in urgent and complex situations.
