6.1 Cell phone boom

The spread of Internet-connected cell phones is explosive: 1.5 billion were sold in 2016. The miniaturization of components, wireless Internet (Wi-Fi and mobile networks) and more natural user interfaces (gestures, voice) are responsible for this revolution: a PC in the hand, better and 20 times cheaper (figure 15 ). The cell phone integrates the functions of a camera, a camcorder, a music player, a watch, a GPS, a telephone, a PC and so on.
