7. Asynchronous drivers

Principle 6: Pilot asynchronism (or the illusion of absolute time for pilots).

Pilot FSs cannot assume that they will be synchronized on the same time basis, especially when it comes to updating repository data.

This principle stems, in part, from the complexity, or even impossibility, of synchronizing a set of processes as vast as that of a company as a whole, and, in part, from the need for weak coupling between the different FS (figure 7 ).
