4.1 Representation of noise in oscillators
4.1.1 Amplitude noise and phase noise
In oscillators, frequency multipliers, frequency dividers, and more generally in circuits using high-level signals (see box), modulations are generated in the non-linear circuit by the noise sources of the components used. We evaluate the noise power carried by these phase and amplitude modulations.
