4. Summary

The three techniques for 2-D focusing of Radar signals using aperture synthesis presented here cover the main types of processing on which the algorithms used in practice, i.e. operationally, are based.

There are a huge number of variants, the aim of which is to exploit some of the specific advantages of one method, to combine them, or to adapt the algorithms to particular material or geometric measurement configurations.

Focusing methods based on back-projection or back-propagation are considered accurate, as they do not use explicit approximation. However, the quality of the results obtained depends on the precision of the interpolation procedures they require.
