3. Data protection
In digital radio, we need to ensure that the source coding technique produces very high quality, while at the same time preserving this quality all the way to the final receiver, after passing through the transmission channel. In addition to source coding, channel coding is used to add specific protection for the transmission channel in question (see 1 ).
