2. Why hasn't virtual reality yielded the expected results yet?

Because the hoped-for take-off of VR (see figure 1 ) was prematurely magnified by information relays around the world, and especially in the USA, a relative disaffection has ensued over the last ten years. VR specialists alone were unable to neutralize this lack of confidence, other than by warning against further application exaggerations. In this section, we will attempt to explain the mechanisms behind the application deficit observed to date for virtual reality.
