3.1 Flow control

Data exchange with TCP is governed by an end-to-end flow control mechanism, known as a sliding window, the aim of which is to make the best possible use of the network's transmission capacities, while avoiding saturating the receiving TCP's memory and, at the same time, ensuring reliable transfer.
