3.1 The CIP mechanism based on representative days
The UHI is classically calculated as the difference between the temperature in the city center and the lowest temperature recorded in the "cold" rural outskirts. In fact, the UHI phenomenon results from a change in the local energy balance: urban overheating is linked above all to built-up and artificial surfaces and volumes, which at night release the heat stored during the day
