3.1.1 Notion of solution

When a linear system is expressed in the form AX = B, where A is a matrix of dimension (n x m), B a matrix of dimension (n x p) and X an unknown matrix of dimension (m x p), it has none, one or infinitely many solutions. The Kronecker-Capelli criterion indicates that this system is compatible, i.e. it admits at least one solution, i.e. a matrix X that verifies exactly the relation AX = B, if :
