klystron ; klystron
Electron tube consisting of a series of cavities separated by tunnels under cut-off. The beam is bundled by speed modulation.
magnetron; magnetron
Crossed-field electron tube, operating as an oscillator, and delivering power in the 1kW-1MW class, mainly in the L and S bands.
CFA
Crossed-field electron tube, based on a principle similar to that of the magnetron, but operating as an amplifier.
gyrotron
Oscillator operating in the millimeter range (generally: above 50GHz) and producing power in the 1-2MW class between 100 and 200GHz).
