6.1 Influence of LC filter losses and optimization
The above calculations are performed with perfect elements, i.e., in particular, with lossless inductances and capacitances. If the LC network is only an intermediate model for the realization of a filter in another technology, this assumption may not be a problem. If, on the other hand, the filter has to be implemented physically, it is imperative to take into account the losses of the actual components, as these have a significant influence, especially in the bandwidth and near the cut-off frequencies.
