4. Conclusion

Throughout this chapter on switching, we have proposed a systematic approach oriented towards synthesizing the switches of a switching cell used to perform a controlled energy transfer between two complementary energy sources. We have shown that the static characteristics of the switches are imposed by the intrinsic reversibilities of these sources, and that their dynamic characteristics depend on how the energy exchanges are managed.
