2. Main elements of the power chain

In this section, we present a number of models that can be used to model an entire power chain in power electronics. All these models are presented separately at first, then we'll see how to assemble them to obtain more complex architectures. We will list the elements here and in the following paragraphs:

  • energy sources ;

  • switches (in the sense of components that can have very low or very high impedances, and are controlled by control signals) ;

  • electrical machines ;

  • power transmission lines.
