Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC); Compatibilité électromagnétique (CEM)

The aim of EMC is to ensure the correct and nominal operation of an electrical or electronic device or system in the presence of interference, without itself producing electromagnetic disturbances that are harmful to everything in its environment.

Onde plane ; Plane wave

The amplitude of a plane wave is invariant in a plane perpendicular to its direction of propagation. In practice, a wave can only verify this property locally, i.e. over a small area close to the direction of propagation.
