2. Industrial realizations

2.1 Maintaining the temperature of a petrochemical oil unit with heater ribbons

To maintain the temperature of an oil unit, the user has defined the geometric characteristics of the lines to be drawn and the calculation assumptions:

  • temperature to be maintained: 80 C to ± 5 C ;

  • minimum outside temperature: – 15 C ;

  • pipe diameters: 4 and 6 inches ;

  • total length of all pipes to be traced: approx. 10,000 m ;

  • thermal insulation: 40 mm thick rock wool;

  • no preheating required.
