3. Mapping Smart Grid technologies

The deployment of a Smart Grids architecture is therefore based on the combination of several infrastructure and software layers enabling communication, measurement, control and monitoring (figure 1 ). On this basis, it is possible to imagine the creation of numerous services upstream and downstream of the meter.
