7. Operating electric resistance furnaces

To operate electric resistance ovens under the best conditions, three points must be followed in particular:

  • correctly establish the furnace's heat balance to determine specific consumption, i.e. consumption per useful unit produced: ton or kilogram of parts, typical unit part, etc;

  • determining the best operating conditions to reduce the specific cost of the unit produced;

  • electric furnace maintenance policy.
