With or without wheels, it's a question of choosing a system that is compatible or not with existing rail lines, whether for metropolitan or regional traffic (like those already in use in Canada or Japan), or for very high speed, on existing or new lines that can approach and even cross the densest urban areas, alongside or even on existing lines.
At present, however, despite some representations or models of possible combinations between Maglev or Transrapid systems and track-based systems, no concrete application has yet been made. This is due in part to the choice of magnetic guidance systems on Germany's latest Maglev trains, those with magnetic attraction, which must necessarily have a large width and depth in relation to the level of the platform serving as track.
