3. Conclusion
The phenomenological study of the couplings exerted by a magnetic loop-type transmitter (or electric monopole) on the TEM mode produced in a coaxial line mainly concerned the calculation of fields. While this question is of great interest in certain problems concerning the electromagnetic compatibility of electronic equipment, it should be noted that the metrology adopted in EMC is frequently inspired by measurement protocols very close to the theories set out in this first part. Such is the case with TEM cells, so called because they reconstitute a TEM mode generated by an emission source. The TEM cell can be likened to a coaxial line comprising a parallelepiped-shaped metal envelope divided symmetrically by a partition connected to the end loads and acting as the inner conductor.
