4. Electromagnetic compatibility analysis
When a number of sub-systems are designed or need to be combined in order to implement a large system or installation, an overall EMC analysis must be carried out with regard to specifications concerning the device as a whole. This approach requires knowledge of the emission levels of the subsystems, their susceptibility levels, and the modes of coupling and attenuation of intersystem disturbances. This information is often acquired experimentally after characterization, but we have seen that it can also be predetermined by simulation.
4.1 Purpose of analysis
The aim of the analysis is to quantitatively estimate the EMC of an installation made up of a set of systems: an intersystem analysis is performed.
The installation must be extended...

Events
Colloque International sur la compatibilité électromagnétique (next: CEM'2010), held every even-numbered year, is a French-language conference that brings together the entire French-speaking EMC community.
The IEEE symposium on EMC is held annually in the summer in the USA.
The RF Hyper trade show is held annually in autumn in Paris.
Standards and norms
Standards and normative documents are available in France from AFNOR for non-electrical documents, and from AFNOR for electrical documents translated into French. For documents concerning electricity and therefore electromagnetic compatibility, international documents are available from UTE. They are in French (left-hand page) and English (right-hand page) for IEC and CISPR documents. Both languages carry the same...
