6. User's guide

To make it easier for the user to draw up a protection diagram for alternators or motors, relay manufacturers often offer a guide to the use of a particular relay, depending on the machine's power rating, and/or the neutral system or switching device used (in the case of motors). The application of such guides obviously depends on the importance of the machine in the process or network.

Examples of guides are given in tables 4 and 5 , for alternators and motors.
