2.1 Wind characterization
The wind rose is a polar diagram that shows wind speed and direction over the period of record. Three elements are displayed (figure 5 ):
the percentage of the total time during which the wind blows in a given direction (indicated by the light blue sectors);
the percentage of total energy per sector (represented by the dark blue sectors). This indicates which direction provides the most energy;
the average turbulence intensity per sector, represented by a number displayed on each sector.
