5. Glossary

Dielectric spectroscopy; dielectric spectroscopy

Spectroscopic technique for measuring the capacitance C p and dielectric losses tan δ of a dielectric material as a function of frequency for a given temperature.

Polarization ; Polarization

This is the behavior of a dielectric material when subjected to an external electric field. It is defined as the sum of dipole moments per unit volume.

Glass transition temperature T g

Represents the temperature range at which the polymer material changes from a rubbery to a glassy (rigid) state.
