6. Marking
All electrical machines must be fitted with one or more nameplates (standard EN 60034-1). The minimum information required is :
name of manufacturer or brand ;
manufacturer's serial number or identification mark ;
rated voltage ;
rated frequency for AC machines.
Other indications are :
power, current, speed and service ratings ;
excitation characteristics ;
manufacturer's machine code and year of manufacture ;
for reciprocating machines: number of phases and rated power factor ;
the degree of protection provided by the enclosures...
