    "A concrete or masonry structure, forming the link between the ground and load-bearing walls, located below ground level, which supports the loads of a building and transmits them to the ground, thus ensuring its stability.

    Preparing the ground for a timber construction is no different from that for any other type of building: the first thing to do is to clean and level it before laying the foundations. Even if they are much less important, due to the lighter weight of the construction, they still require careful attention.
