3. Developments in high-performance concrete

3.1 Future developments

The development of these concretes can be predicted for a number of reasons.

The chemistry of superplasticizers continues to develop ever more efficient molecules: we are seeking to better understand the mechanisms of the reactions that take place, and therefore to better target the functions to be favored.

In addition, projects have been launched to limit the number of defects that can be treated:

  • make formulas more robust (less sensitive to variations in dosage);

  • make it possible to add air entrainers for improved frost resistance;

  • improve fire resistance and verify the benefits of adding polypropylene fibers....
