To produce concrete with precise characteristics, it is necessary to establish a composition set-up.

In general, this search goes through two phases using different methods based on the search for maximum compactness, in accordance with Caquot's theories on the granular composition of mixtures:

  • or graphically, using methods such as those of Faury or Dreux-Gorisse ;

  • or experimentally, based on the results of study tests carried out in the laboratory or under site conditions (e.g., using the LCPC method).
