2.1 Wall products and materials (AM2)

A wall's reaction to fire depends on the products or materials of which it is made.

The reaction-to-fire requirement concerns the finished wall, with the exposed face receiving the heat flow.

All finishes are tested on a typical substrate or on a standard substrate representative of the wall for which they are intended. Standards NF EN 13238 and NF P92-507 specify the conventional supports or substrates. Depending on the type of wall considered, the test specimens are either a wall element in its entire thickness, or the finish presented on a typical support...
