In this chapter, we describe a number of structures that are subject to almost recurrent pathologies. Some of these will be discussed in greater detail in a forthcoming publication.

3.1 Tanks

These structures are subject to significant pathology due to the fact that, in the majority of cases, the concrete in vertical walls works in tension, or even compound bending.

It is imperative to limit cracking and, consequently, the tensile stress of the concrete, which must not exceed a fraction of the concrete's tensile strength, as well as that of the steels.
