2. New configurations

Several innovative configurations are presented in this second part to highlight the potential offered by a singular structural composition that can be said to generalize the principle of prestressing to structural solutions other than the prestressed concrete with which engineers are familiar.

The first example, that of "flexible grids", illustrates the extension of the concept to systems other than reticulated systems (§ 2.1 ).
