3. Calculating cable post-tensioning

The prestressing force varies both :

  • in space, with the abscissa along the cable, due to friction ;

  • over time, due to concrete shrinkage and creep on the one hand, and steel relaxation on the other.

Voltage losses can be broken down into two categories:

  • instantaneous losses ;

  • deferred losses.
