4. Plastics bonding

In addition to glued floor, wall or roof coverings on various substrates, many other plastic parts are used in the building industry, and in most cases, they can now be assembled by gluing.

  • Bonding PVC pipes for water supply and wastewater drainage

    Large-diameter pipes for pressurized water supply (from a few bars) are most often assembled using flanges and various fittings, as gluing them would require parts with very precise clearance tolerances, since the existing types of glue (solvent-based glues with low dry extract) do not allow gaps greater than 1 or 2/10 mm.

    Pipes with a diameter of 50 mm or less are generally bonded with three types of solvent-based PVC adhesives:

    • pressure-resistant adhesives (10, even 16 bar) for pressurized water...
