3. Overall behavior of structures
3.1 Advanced calculation models
It is possible to use numerical models to simulate the overall behavior of structures, involving both the notion of natural/actual fire and the thermo-mechanical analysis of structural deformation, using so-called "advanced calculation" models. Such analyses enable us to take into account the transfer of forces from heated elements to cooler peripheral elements, as well as other types of interaction due mainly to expansion.
The application of advanced calculation models, within the framework of the use of Eurocodes, is however subject to obtaining an opinion on the study, within the framework of the application of article 15 of the decree of March 22, 2004.
