10.  Conclusion

For steel construction, the arrival of the EN 1090-2 is a major development, as it provides a framework for the construction of steel structures throughout the production chain. Its implementation has consequences in terms of organization within the companies concerned, but it is also an opportunity for these companies to generate added value by bringing transparency to production.

Since the text was published and implemented, a great deal of feedback has become available at European level, providing food for thought on how to improve it.

This evolution should be such that the structure and philosophy of the text will not be overturned, but certain provisions will be adapted or simplified with the aim of optimizing requirements and seeking a balance between the costs...
