2. Vibration and natural frequency of composite floors

For normal-span composite floors (span ), the decisive design conditions are bending strength and deflection control. For long-span floors (6 to 18 m), the control of vibrations induced by occupants becomes a decisive design condition.

The vibratory behavior of a floor under the action of users can be verified either by calculating the response to dynamic loading induced by users, or by imposing a minimum vibration frequency for the floor structure.
