2. General outline of the section
This section is organized as follows.
The first article describes the materials used for masonry walls themselves, of course, but also for the cladding that covers them on at least one side in most cases, both inside and out, as well as those used for plasterwork (partitions, ceilings and linings) and associated structures (lintels, window sills, flues and chimney stacks, etc.).
The second article is devoted to the design of major types of masonry (walls, partitions, etc.), as well as to provisions relating to the connection of such masonry with other parts of the construction (reinforced concrete structures in particular), or specific to masonry used in seismic zones.
